Grabarka became famous in 1710 when the miracle happened during the cholera epidemic, when thousands of people were cured by drinking water from its well, it is still possible to do this today and feel the healing properties of the water. It is the site of the Holy Mountain of Grabarka, the most important place of worship for members of the Orthodox Church in Poland. Annually it holds a religious festival where people can listen to sermons by priests and nuns and includes a huge market.
